I've had a lot of bad experiences at dental offices in the past, so my family had to switch places several times, but it feels different here. Dr. Hill took her time with me and was not only concerned about my oral health but also my overall health. She actually talks to me and doesn't rush through the cleaning. She's also quite perceptive of my anxiety and even explained what sounds or what the instruments may feel like before using them on me. For that, I'm really grateful because I'm able to trust her a lot better.

I saw Dr. Hill for a new patient exam and cleaning today and from my experience, I’d recommend this practice to everyone! It’s a small, private practice and I think that patient care is much more personal because of that. Dr. Hill asked me several times throughout my exam and cleaning if I was comfortable and she was very friendly, so I think that she would be a great doctor for anyone that has anxiety around going to the dentist. I didn’t feel rushed during my appointment and all of my questions were answered thoroughly. I paid a fair price for the service I received as well.

Get to Know Dr. Julia Hill
Dr. Julia Hill grew up in two towns on state lines- Wheeling, WV and Marietta, OH. Her inclination toward the sciences stemmed from her physician dad. Her empathy and desire to connect to patients came from her therapist mom. She pursued pre-med in college, but after shadowing her family dentist and speaking with the pre-dental advisor, Dr. Hill got inspired by a slightly different path. With dentistry it allowed her to meld the scientific with the creative parts of her personality. It also allowed her to make a difference in her patients’ health and self- esteem.
Dr. Hill received her BA in Zoology from Miami University and her DMD from The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. She then completed a year-long internship in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Ohio State University. She followed this with a general practice residency program at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Hill has been practicing dentistry since 2008 and feels that her education in her field is a continuous process. By far, her favorite part of dentistry is taking a fearful patient and turning them around to realize that dentistry does not have to be scary.
In her free time you can find Dr. Hill going on bike rides with her husband Justin, roaming around used bookstores, and staying fit and active. You might just get to meet their Aussie mix, Arthur, when he stops by the office from time to time.

Intraoral cameras are a great way for patients to get a look at the condition of their own teeth and mouth and discuss any issues or treatment plan with Dr. Hill. Unlike digital x-rays, intraoral cameras can show the exterior of the teeth rather than its interior.
